Too expensive

Blu Ray is still too expensive and it shouldn't be. It shouldn't be that expensive because I want to be able to watch movies like the Lord of the Rings trilogy in HD. Man it looks so good on TNT right now.

How Sweep It Is

A nice hand broom to go with the mini-sweep. I'll take a two game series sweep anytime against the Mets.

Johan Santana vs. John Smoltz

What a pitching match up. Smoltz is usually not so good in his first start of the year plus he's a little past his prime. Johan however is the best pitcher in baseball. It should make for a good afternoon watching baseball. That is a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Boring

Man being off work and having the family out of town is really boring. I guess I should have planned my time better. I didn't help that despite the win the Braves game was a rather boring watch on TV, that made the day somewhat drag on. Tis life I guess, the family returns tomorrow around lunch time.

Rain Out

The Braves rain out made for a boring night, minus the return of Battlestar Galactica of course. It did really help the Braves pitching staff though which is good. Hopefully it will help the Braves bullpen throughout the remaining series with the Mets.

Man we frakkin missed you

Change can be good

Who knows if my current change will be good or not. I'm not sure that it is good but I'll have a week's worth of vacation to get used to the idea. I'll be less cryptic later but right now I think it will be good, at least for the short term.

Stupid Braves

Like I wrote earlier a win against the Pirates should only count for 1/2 a win. I also think a loss against the Pirates should count as two losses. Either way the Braves aren't looking very good. Actually their D has cost them two games now so it isn't that bad but 1-3 with the Mets coming up isn't very good.

Welcome Back Hampton

Oh wait, you aren't back. I can't believe people actually expected you to contribute this season. Stupid Mike Hampton.

RIP

Three plus years and countless miles around the country and my laptop died today. I'll work on trying to fix it but it appears to be either the power supply or the motherboard, both aren't easy to fix on a laptop. It did take a lot of abuse at quite a few conventions and sales trips so it did a great job. At least it is 2008 and now 1998 and computers are cheap. In fact we have two other computers up and running in the house so it isn't a big deal at all. Of course traveling might be difficult but it looks like I'll do less of that upcoming.

A Win!

So that is what a win feels like. Granted beating the Pirates should probably only grant your team 1/2 a win but I'm sure the Braves will take a win. Only 159 more to go!

Still not the Seahawks

From the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
Playoff flag that wasn't thrown

Mike Pereira, the NFL's head of officiating, admitted yesterday that his crew working the Steelers-Jaguars playoff game erred in not calling a holding penalty against Jacksonville on a crucial play that allowed the Jaguars to kick the winning field goal.

Quarterback David Garrard scrambled on fourth-and-2 from the Steelers 43 and made the first down. Three plays later, Josh Scobee kicked a field goal, giving the Jaguars a 31-29 victory. Several Steelers players complained there was blatant holding on Garrard's run. Nearly three months later, Pereira agreed with them.

The NFL never admitted a mistake during Super Bowl XL and I still hear Seahawks fans bitching about it. Hell I had a flight attendant give me a hard time recently, like somehow the Steelers and Seahawks are rivals. The NFL admitted a mistake and it cost the Steelers a playoff game. Well the three INTs by Ben probably cost them more but it is easier to blame outside forces. But the Steelers have a little class, their coach declined to comment. He didn't go to a pep rally and say "I didn't know we'd have to play the refs as well". Normally coaches get fined for stuff like that but I guess hall of fame caliber coaches don't.

I'm sure the internet full of Steelers fans are bitching, hell I'm bitching a little, but the Steelers organization has a little more class than some teams. That and I'm sure two years later we're still not going to be complaining about it.

No Loss

At least the Braves won't lose tonight. There are better ways to start the season than 0-2 but at least the starting pitching is good and the hitting is better than average. Now if they get the defense better and a little good bullpen play it might be a good season.

Stupid Xavier Nady

Man the Braves better fix their defense if they hope to actually win a game this year. That and they should have know that Xavier Nady is a first month or so fantasy beast. I don't know why I forget this every year.

Getting older

Games like tonight will make me get older quick. I hope the extra innings are kinder tonight than they were last night.

9-9 Braves after a great 'hit' by Brian McCann. If you didn't see the game catch it on SportsCenter, brilliant!

Home Opener

Man Tommy looks a lot better dressed like that

Sunday, March 30, 2008

Damn It

I guess a team should win their first game at their new stadium. It sucks that means the Nationals beat the Braves. Nice way to win it for them, walk-off home run by their best player. Good things the Braves have 161 more to go to make up that one game deficit.

Opening Day!

The Braves open tonight in Washington with Tim Hudson as the Opening Day starter. I'm excited that baseball is back but for some reason not as much as seasons past. Maybe being away from a city/area with a baseball team for going on six years now is starting to catch up to me. I'm excited for tonight though. Play ball!

I'm proud

I'm proud of My Pretty Bird for handling her recent change in employment very well. We're in a position that we only need her to work 20 or so hours a week to cover make everything easier (granted we'd both like to eventually get her a FT job so we can start getting ahead instead of just staying afloat). Due to my recent travels wrecking her schedule, her boss being a complete ass, and her not really liking her job she left her job about a month ago. Well she found a job she's wanted for a few years now and hopefully it will be everything she wants it to be. She starts today and The Little One and I are very proud of her.

2008 is going fast

I guess spending six weeks in another state only thinking about when I was going to be able to spend some time at home just makes the year go by pretty quick. I really can't believe that it is almost April. Actually I'm having a hard time believing it is past February. We usually have a decent Valentine's Day date and then do something, anything for my birthday but both of those went without any fuss. I guess my brain is just going to take a little time to understand that the green stuff on my car doesn't mean the flowers are blooming early it just means I've missed 1/2 the year. Oh well, it means baseball season starts soon and our vacation in June will be here that much sooner.

Easter Bunny

I think this is the last year we get to play Easter Bunny. We're bucking to peer pressure and getting The Little One an iPod this Easter. All of her friends have an MP3 player so she's getting an iPod Shuffle to be one of the cool kids. She'll love it even if it doesn't ever play music because its purple.

Good Friday

They were right when they named today Good Friday. It was a great day.

Now that is cool

Neat, thanks for the help

The last part of shipping our stuff from CT to NC involves all the product that doesn't really have large quantities. Instead of shipping two or three pallets or even 10 to 15 cases of something I'm shipping one to five individual items. We have about 50 SKUs that have less than 12 items and that has been taking my time. The warehouse has given me two people to help combine items, put them in a box, and write the item number and quantity on the box. Neat, six weeks up here and this is the first real help I get.

Or so I thought it would be helpful. Our SKUs for die cast products are seven digits long and then sometimes an A or B attached at the end. The A or B are when we do a second paint job for the same team or item, like another Steelers Transporter. But a normal item number looks like this.

6255606

The first two boxes I grabbed that they helped me with looked like this.

620541
625518

It gets even more fun as I go through more and more boxes and get ones like these.

62588207
623124189

I'd like to thank these fine women for their help at taking a few years off my life.

700!

This is my 700th post. It also feels like my 700th day up here in Conneticuit but this is my last week. I'm sure I had a real blog post in mind but I saw the 699 posts and I figured I'd point this will be the 700th entry. Who really cares I guess.

Toby or Sam?

Man that was an incredible speech given by Barak Obama today, just incredible. It did everything it needed to do in terms of dealing with the idiot controversy involving his preacher. The speech then opened and expanded on actual issues involving racism. It was just an incredible speech delivered perfectly. The speech was so good I figured Toby or Sam wrote it.

Sorry if you don't like all the Obama lovin' in my blog, deal with it.

The last week!

This will be my last week dragging my ass up to Connecticut. I should be done on either Wednesday or Thursday with one more day to double check that everything is done. That means I will either be home for good Thursday or Friday. Then I'm taking a few days off next week. I wonder if I can still find the office next week.

Friday, March 14, 2008

NYC

I need to figure out a way to head to NYC for at least a few hours. I've only got one week left in CT and I haven't been to NYC once. It is the greatest city in the country and I'm this close, I should make a trek. Doubtful I will have time but still a good goal.

Is it baseball season yet?

Only two weeks to go!

Wednesday, March 12, 2008

I LOL'ed

Sure I'm just ripping off a Fark headline and that proves I'm a hack but this one was really funny.

"Saying Hillary has Executive Branch experience is like saying Yoko Ono was a Beatle."

Quite funny and remarkably true.

Not So Smart

The receptionist up here talks to me everyday. She knows I fly home on Friday and back on Monday. She knows this because she brings it up. Today she asked if I liked the H3 I was driving and how much I paid for it. Why on earth would I but a truck and drive it up here.

In other news I'm driving an H3 which is fricking huge. This is the small version of the Hummer, I have no idea why anyone would want this unless you lived in the middle of nowhere. I wanted the Impala sized car and I end up with an H3, at least it is the same rate.

Brilliant

I love daily/Sunday comics. I don't read them all the time but do I love reading them when I actually get the chance. Well that is, I love reading the good ones. Bill Watterson is one of my all-time favorite authors regardless of medium. I enjoy others as well but I gotta give Calvin and Hobbes a little push whenever I can. Anyway Jim Davis is not one of my favorite authors. I think its good that Garfield is popular since it helps other strips. I also think Jim Davis can get all the money he can so the merchandising doesn't bother me. My issue is the strip is awful. Not Family Circus bad but still really bad.

Well this site, compliments of Pretty Bird, makes Garfield a pretty damn good read. Enjoy.

Rib eye

I used to love ordering rib eyes when I was actually ordering a steak. Well when I could afford it anyway. I'm a huge fan of a good steak but they aren't always the cheapest dinner out. Plus over the last 5+ years we try to eat a lot less red meat than before. Anyway back to the rib eye, for whatever reason it hit the sweet spot with me. My grandfather would be upset that a filet isn't my favorite but a rib eye just was. It was the right mixture of tenderness, flavor, and most importantly price. I used to like ordering them out.

When we moved into our house last year we got a nice grill and cook out on it. We've cooked everything, fish, veggies, corn (which I think is a vegetable), pork chops, burgers, chicken, and of course steak. My favorite to cook is again the rib eye. A local place runs a great sale every now and then on them and we get them and have a nice Sunday dinner.

It seems the side effect to that is that I enjoy my rib eye much better than a restaurants. In traveling the past five weeks I don't pay for food so I try to eat a steak once a week, to treat myself for being stuck in Connecticut. Well I've had three rib eyes in five weeks from three different places and none of them are close to the quality that we have. I just assume if I'm paying 3 to 4x the price I should get a quality steak. I guess I'm mistaken. Tonight's was a good one but still not quite as good as mine. Too bad I guess.

I did it, finally!

Finally a trip through the Philly airport that didn't include a delay. The last five trips through Philly included a 20 minute, 50 minute, 2 hour, 5 hour, and 20 hour delay. That is an extra 28 hours and ten minutes I didn't need to spend in Philadelphia. This in addition the the five hours I was already supposed to spend in Philly on those trips. Stupid USAir.

When I flew out of Norfolk we flew through Philly all the time and we almost never had issues. Well save the extra three hours we spent coming back from Essen. Now that they've merged with America West they've completely neglected their Philly hub and its causing huge issues. There was actually an article about it in the USA Today last week. Well having gone through Philly now nine times in the past five weeks I agree with the article, USAirways needs to step up and fix it. Its apparently going to pass O'Hare was the worst in terms of delays.

Well not today, today I was even early. Hopefully it will keep up since I have another three trips through here in the next 11 days.

Spin at its best

As I'm bored as hell waiting for my truck to get here so I can get done and fly home I'll rant about politics again. Watching The West Wing has really put me in tune with seeing political spin, more than before. Maybe I catch it easier because I'm older and more of a cynic, who knows. Anyway the Clinton spin machine is about as good as they come.

They keep spinning her as gaining momentum when Obama was 15 points down in Texas and 20 points down in Ohio two weeks before the primary and he lost much closer than that. Actually he won Texas but we'll get to that later. The news outlets all buy all of the momentum changing stories, that is all you read and hear.

My count (which could be wrong) has Obama winning 21 contests and Clinton winning 14. Five of the contests Clinton has won didn't gain Clinton anymore delegates than Obama. In Michigan and Florida she earns zero delegates but that could change. In New Hampshire, her big "I'm still here" win early in the race they both got 9 delegates. In Nevada Obama actually got one more delegate than she did. Recently in Texas it looks like Obama is going to get two more delegates than Clinton will. I won't blame the Texas one on her too much because its weird, they get to vote twice.

Over a million more people have voted for Obama than Clinton. She needs to win 70% of the remaining votes to get enough delegates to pass Obama. She didn't win 70/30 in New York or Arkansas, her two home states.

All of that and she isn't dropping out and the media keeping following her along. She can't win without a floor fight and they're still going along. Granted they are going along because of ratings but still she can't win.

If the tables were turned I firmly believe the establishment would be calling for Obama to step down so Clinton can prepare to take on McCain. Enough ranting for now.

Not allowed

You should not be allowed to put ketchup on prime rib. The person next to me at the Foxwoods buffet should have been required to give the food back.

Never a good idea

When you're sick of the free breakfast at the hotel going to McDonalds is never a good idea. I've been paying for it all day.

Tuesday, March 4, 2008

Stop reading and go vote

If you live in Texas and Ohio (or Vermont and Rhode Island) then you should go vote today. Actually if you live in Ohio you should look to move to a different state, talk about a state that needs to gets its head out of its ass. Every single big city in that state is in huge decline, its like the calendar changed from 1978 and Ohio didn't try to keep up.

Anyway, go vote and help decide who is going to take on John McCain to become the 44th President of the United States.

One of the nice benefits of coming home is I get to eat Girl Scout cookies and yes I believe they're made with real Girl Scouts.

Quick

Quick without it looking it up if you can tell Ronald Reagan or John McCain's middle name then you can feel free to call him Barack Hussein Obama. Naw, even then you can't do that. Give me a reference when the last time someone referred to John McCain using his middle name and then it is okay for you to use Obama's middle name. You idiot ass people are the reason the republican party has been run into the ground.

Man I hope we get our ass kicked in November. Granted I'd much prefer us getting our ass kicked and having the democrats actually do something unlike the 2006 Congress that hasn't done shit. Newt is ushered in and is able to push Clinton around some and that was against a very popular president. Pelosi becomes Speaker and Congress hasn't done anything in 13 months.

Xbox 360

Man how they create such a great system in terms of user content but so bad at everything else. The number of quality games and the stunning quality in those games is just out of this world. The content and quality through Xbox Live is insane. The games and online community just crush the offerings of Sony and Nintendo.

I've been buy systems since the NES, I've owned an NES, SNES, Genesis, Playstation, Dreamcast, Playstation 2, and Gamecube. Other than the NES and SNES there hasn't been a system with this many great games this quick, at least in my opinion. I think my opinion is skewed because the NES and SNES were when I was in school and younger so my impression is probably a little different. All of the critics and most of the game developers also agree, the Xbox 360 is a great system. It is better than the PS3. Neither the PS3 or the 360 are really comparable to the Wii. Everything the Wii is good at the PS3/360 aren't and vice versa. Anyway the 360 is great.

Well almost great. The quality is abysmal. Their Red Ring of Death affects almost 30% of their systems. Their DRM is awful, well most DRM is awful but this is worse. The DRM is tied to your user account and to the system ID. If one changes it can still check the other one to make sure you're allowed to use the content you've paid for. MS wants to push their larger harddrives because they sell HD movies and full games through XBL. But moving your content from on HD to another can somehow lose your system ID numbers in the DRM. It only affects certain content since you aren't changing systems just storage devices. That isn't the real issue, the real issue is DRM mixed with the Red Ring of Death. Now you're getting a new console back and your content won't work properly. It will work only when you're online and even then there are also some issues just like transferring the HDs.

Microsoft has never been known for good customer service and their Xbox team is no different. Calling their support line for either the RROD or DRM issues, both issues MS is well aware of and even admits in public a lot, is like pulling teeth. The calls take far too long for one. This is mainly because they are outsourced to India. The most recent call was a nice guy with a thick Indian accent and a vague understanding of the english language named Fred. I've talked to a 'Bob', 'Janet', "Kim", and 'Pete'; all thick Indian accents although some are pretty good at english.

The call center is not empowered to handle complaints, only offer scripted solutions. There is no person to complain to, they don't have supervisors at least for you to talk to. Their forums have moderators that are helpful in answering questions but don't work for MS and don't have any power to do anything. There are multiple huge DRM issues constantly updated on their forums as 'in progress' and those were started when the system was launched.

Apparently the RROD is getting a lot more under control but the DRM and customer service issues will remain an issue. MS is a huge proponent of DRM and like I wrote earlier has never been good with customer service. So I'm torn, all three of us love playing the 360. I've played and enjoyed at least 15 great games since the system was released. I have an HD TV and a huge fan of video games so I want a system that shows that off. The 360 is just a ton better in terms of games library than the PS3 and that doesn't look to change.

So I don't know what I'd recommend to someone looking for a new system. Well I'd recommend a Wii but a new system for HD I just don't know. I'd probably recommend a 360 since their RROD is a lot more under control and they do handle it quickly. Be warned about the DRM though, don't spend too much money on XBL or at least research it first before you buy it, some developers are much better with DRM than others.

But a system with Mass Effect and Halo 3 is not to be missed. In addition to the multiple platform games almost always rate better on the 360 than PS3. Just understand that your $400 might only last 18 months and then you'll spend a few hours on the phone and then a few weeks without a system.

Almost Opening Day

I'm trying to decide if I want to head to Atlanta for the home opener. The last time I went was the last time the Braves made the playoffs so I think I should go. We'll see as it gets closer.

Academy Awards

We like the Oscars, we watch them every year. This year's crop really has both of us feeling rather blah but it is still a fun view. In one of the little video clips they showed Michael Bay talking about voting for Best Picture. Michael Bay should not be allowed to vote for a real award.

Too...much...snow

Hopefully I can get to the airport and how through the 8 inches of snow. Really how do people live in this crap every year.

Thursday, February 21, 2008

I'm too old for this

I'm too old for 7:30am to 11pm days, much too old. I was probably always too old but when I was 25 and making time and a half I thought it was a great idea. Now that I'll get nothing for it, not even probably a thank you, I think I'm much less excited about it. Hey at least I didn't work the most hours this week on my birthday.

Snow

I don't mind snow, in fact up here they handle it really well. I just really wish it wasn't supposed to drop 5 or 6 inches of snow on the day I'm trying to fly home. I'm here five days a week so please snow on the other days.

Wednesday, February 20, 2008

Some days

Are just better than others. That of course means some days are worse than others. Today was one of the worse kind. Man some of the people up here aren't good at all.

Tuesday, February 19, 2008

First time for everything

I've worked 12.5 hours in a day before.
I've worked a shitty day on the road before.
I've worked on my birthday before.

I've never worked 12.5 hours, in shitty conditions on the road, on my birthday before. To say I've had better birthdays would be an understatement.

Election Day

It is election day and I haven't ranted about politics in about a week so it is time again.

You know I don't mind when a campaign keeps passing along information that isn't entirely true. What I mind is when the news keeps harping the same thing over and over again yet it isn't true. Hillary Clinton does not have more experience than Barack Obama. Obama actually has more time as an elected official than Clinton does. Being First Lady of the US and First Lady of Arkansas does not count as experience.

If you have to go to surgery tomorrow does the surgeon's wife or husband count? If you're robbed can the police officer's spouse investigate the crime? Sure the surgeon's spouse knows more about medicine and surgery than your or I do. And a cop's wife probably knows gun safety and crime prevention more than average person. I mean my wife knows TCGs better than a novice but I wouldn't call her a game designer. Being the wife of the President does not count as governmental experience.

So congratulations to Barak Obama for his 9th win in a row at the state of Wisconsin. He'll probably get his 10th as I go to bed in his home state of Hawaii. Hopefully Ohio and Texas can end this and allow him to spend money on a national campaign starting in a few weeks.

Sarah Conner is better in HD

I'm actually enjoying the Terminator show a good bit. I like the universe a lot and this is changing it up some which is nice. I do miss being able to watch the show in HD as opposed to the little ass TV I have at the hotel here in Connecticut.

More than 40 hours

Next week I'd like to spend more than 40 hours or so at home before I'm back on the road. Oh well, I guess it beats digging holes for a living.

Saturday, February 16, 2008

Please just shut up

I had to catch a 6 something or other in the morning flight to come home today. I couldn't sleep because the family behind me in the little ass plane wouldn't shut up talking to the young couple going on vacation. It was obvious the young couple wanted the family to leave them alone but they were having none of it. My favorite was the dad pointing out to his 7 or 8 year old son his knowledge of Star Wars. The son was looking threw the Sky Mall magazine and it had the Sharper Image R2-D2 in it.

"Yeah that is the robot that Luke Skywalker built."

First they aren't robots, they are droids.
Second Luke Skywalker didn't build any droid or robot.
And finally, no whiny Slywalker, Luke or Anakin, can build R2.

I almost corrected them but then I'd be involved in their conversation. Next time please let me sleep.

Happy Valentine's Day

I'm not a fan of this holiday made up to sell more greeting cards, chocolate, and jewelry. I love my wife and I don't need an extra reason to buy her flowers or something shiny.

Still I do like this day. Eleven years ago my beautiful wife said the one word that change our lives forever, "Yes!"

She was still living at home (we're young now 31 and 29 and about to celebrate our 10th anniversary, we got hitched young) and had done something to piss her parents off. We hadn't really been on many dates around Valentine's Day. I want to say that it was our only date in a month or more, its been a long time. I obviously knew I wanted to ask, I had the ring and everything. I didn't really want to be sappy and ask her on Valentine's Day. The pain in the ass her parents were giving us didn't give me many options so I decided Valentine's Day would be great.

Of course it was great. We've had some really good Valentine's Days and some good birthday/VD combos (my birthday is near VD). This year is a telecommuting Valentine's Day since I'm stuck in the boredom that is bumble Connecticut. There's always next year.

Happy Valentine's Day Pretty Bird, I miss you.

Maybe its just me

A junior, minority member of congress vs. an established, should have already won the nomination already candidate.

A possible and almost inevitable floor fight at the convention (actually I seriously doubt it will come to a floor fight).

Neither party running an incumbent in the general election.

The republicans running a moderate candidate who is popular with independents and even some democrats.

The republican candidate having issues with the 'family values' portion of the republican party, needing to pick a very conservative, probably from the south running mate.

I just described season 6 and 7 of the West Wing. It could be me but that seems an awful lot like real-life. It should make for a fun year if you pay any attention to politics.

Snow

There is more snow in the last few hours up here than my entire three years in Charlotte, NC.

Just Plain Crazy

Normally I think John Rocker is a raving lunatic, actually I still believe Rocker is a lunatic. I do completely agree with everything he said today. I think MLB while not pushing performance enhancing drugs very much looked the other way. I also think encouraged coaches and doctors to look the other way. Chicks dig the long ball and that put people in the stands.

John Rocker is still crazy, he's just correct here.

Saturday, February 9, 2008

McCain or Obama

The 44th President of the United States of America is going to be Barack Obama or John McCain. John McCain will pick a conservative running mate to get the Republican Party back all together. If you wacky democrats nominate Hillary Clinton then McCain's wins in a landslide.

I've written it before, I will write now, and I will write it later on. If you crazy democrats nominate Hillary Clinton then John McCain will be the next president. Clinton has no moderate republican or independent appeal. Sure she'll carry most of the democrat base but that didn't exactly work for Gore or Kerry. In addition she'll depress turnout from democrats (like my wife) who don't like her. If you nominate Obama at least there is a chance.

Either way I don't really mind. I'd much prefer Obama but I do like McCain as well.

Off the cold NE

I drew the short straw and I have to motivate/supervise our company's warehouse move from CT to NC. Very few people that work for us have the skills and flexibility to be able to handle it. Plus I can be a dick when I need to be to get what I need. I could have opted out but that would have made someone else have to spend two to four weeks in CT. Personally I hope to get these people motivated enough that I only have to spend two weeks there. Lots of fun. At least maybe I'll be able to drive to Rhode Island or Vermont/New Hampshire to knock some states off my list.

Good Public Speaker

After two campaigns and three candidates who couldn't carry a room for shit the 2008 election is a nice change. Obama, Clinton, and McCain are all commanding public speakers. Well maybe McCain isn't commanding but he is pretty good and very charismatic. Since in my opinion one of the biggest things a president can do is inspire the people I think public speaking should be a job requirement. Obviously the DNC and GOP didn't think so in 2000 or 2004 with those three dolts. Granted Gore was already Vice President, of course he was going to get the nomination. Anyway, I think the debates and campaign should be interesting. Of course the democrats better pick a candidate soon or they'll be way behind.

Mercury Morris

The only bad part of the Giants winning the Super Bowl is it allows Mercury Morris to remain relevant. Man the '72 Dolphins can be borderline insufferable. However I do think the new Reebok commercial is pretty good.

Matt Hasselbeck

Can Matty just retire and go to the booth so we can get some decent color commentary? Hasselbeck is going to be an awesome booth man once he's done playing. He would be a good talking head but bald white guys usually don't get a talking head job, sorry Brad.

Baseball Season?

Is it baseball season yet? Can it be the start of football season? Now ratings for ESPN go down big time in our household.

Get Out and Vote

I can't vote until April and by then the primaries shouldn't matter. Most people who read this blog are either family or friends in Georgia or the ever increasing group of people I know in Colorado. Both of those states have their primary or caucus or whatever today. So stop reading this and get out and vote.

I don't really care who you vote but you should vote. Well you should vote for Obama but even if you don't you should vote.

Double standard

Randy Moss is absolutely demolished for leaving the sidelines in a losing situation before the game was over. He was demolished by the media and fans to the point where it was a huge reason for the Vikings feeling he should be traded.

Brett Favre leaves the sidelines before a game was over the very next year in a game that was already decided. It is okay, Brett Favre is old and probably couldn't read the game clock anyway.

In both cases I think it isn't that big a deal for the players to be on the sidelines with a few seconds before the game was over, it doesn't matter. If Moss is going to get destroyed over it then Favre should have at least had his name dragged through the mud a little bit.

Coaches on the other hand, they need to keep their ass on the sidelines until the double whistle is blown. It never really entered my mind that a head coach would leave before the clock hit zero and the game was over but obviously I was wrong.

Bill Belichick left the Super Bowl sidelines before the last play was run. Obviously there was a good bit of confusion at the end of the game and you can see if a player or two got confused and headed to the locker room early. The head coach however was told by the ref that one more play had to be run, how else would that play have been run. Belichick still decided to leave the sidelines early.

I haven't really bashed the Patriots the way all the haters have. They get called dirty and classless but most good teams get called that. Hines Ward is called dirty because he hits harder than the other WRs usually do. Chad Johnson or Marvin Harrison would blindside hit as much as Ward does, which is legal, if they were good at it. It keeps the DB back just a little bit more than usual and wears them down. Ward is just good at it so he uses it. Almost all of the good teams that I can remember have had people complain that they do this or that dirty or they lack class. I just viewed the Patriots as the same, they're good so let's hate on them.

Man I do wish Belichick showed just a little more class though. I want to say it is just people hating on him because he's probably the best coach in football but stuff like that doesn't help.

Doesn't help

When asked why I'm a republican the answer I most frequently give is I like a smaller federal government. It is the truth as well. I don't think the best solution to every problem is automatically a federal program to fix it. Sure me and my community would have a hard time defending the country or building an interstate. But there are plenty of other things that state and local communities are much better served handling themselves. There are other reasons but that is the big one.

And now President Bush sends the largest budget in history to Congress. Oh yeah, he's also got the second and third largest budget. Sure there is inflation but that is just dumb. I am really embarrassed that he is the same political affiliation that I am. Such a bad president that man is.

Sunday, February 3, 2008

Again, OMG

Was that an incredible play or what? That was just dumb good.

I like being wrong

Oh my God was that a great football game. I mainly wanted a good game and good lord it was a great game. Back to back Manning Super Bowls, just a little weird. Eli's sack avoid, 20 yard completion is now my favorite non-Steelers Super Bowl play. Man that was a great play.

Say what?

I love that Art Monk finally made the Hall of Fame. For whatever reason I've always been a fan of Monk. I don't really understand how Cris Carter didn't get into the Hall. He's clearly one of the three or four most prolific wide receivers in the history of the game. I'm sure Carter will get in eventually but I don't really get why you should. I guess I never really understood that about Hall of Fame voters.

56-24

The Patriots will destroy the Giants, I mean destroy them. We haven't had a rout in the Super Bowl in a few years so we're due. The Patriots are quite possibly the best team to ever play in the NFL. The Giants are pretty good team, you have to be to make the Super Bowl, but they can't stop the Patriots. I think the Patriots are going to go all "Tiger Woods" and just step up on Sunday and bury the competition.

Best of Both Worlds

Today Pretty Bird and I took the Little One and two of her friends to see the Hannah Montana concert movie. Much like Miley's real concerts this movie is sold out everywhere but we were able to get some tickets. The Little One invited a second friend so despite her "really wanting" me to see it as well I was left out. The theater we got tickets to was about 35 minutes away and with three 8-year olds I didn't want to leave my wife alone. I drove and helped keep the kids in-line. They were crazy excited the entire way up and the entire way down. I'm sure there they were that way during the show as well. It is so weird to see them grow up but it is great to see her this excited.

For Girard

Only two weeks left.

The Braves big acquisitions this offseason that will report in two weeks, Javy Lopez and Tom Glavine. Not bad if it was 1998 but it is 2008 so I'll reserve judgment for later.

Super Tuesday

Sure the Super Bowl is Sunday but Super Tuesday is next Tuesday. I strongly believe that an American President impacts the daily life of an American far less than the public thinks they do. That being said the a president is a big deal and Tuesday will go a long way towards deciding who is the next president. I know, I normally don't talk about religion or politics but I'm getting older so I feel I should share my opinions more often.

I'm a registered republican married to a left-wing nut job democrat. I'm not a republican because I hate gays or want to save all unborn babies but kill the doctors who perform abortions. I don't think God drives my daily life or that we should be bomb the shit out of any country that gets in our way. I strongly believe that a larger government is inherently less free than a smaller one. In theory I don't believe the way to solve problems is to tax the wealthy to make for the poor, although in practice there are times that is necessary. I think local and state governments, having better knowledge about their citizens, should have a much larger role in determining the way those citizens are governed. I think a strong national defense, albeit not one that invades countries because we're bored, is incredibly important.

I think I'll spend more time over the next 10 months rambling off my beliefs. If you agree with them great, if not, oh well. So yes I'm a republican, I helped put George Bush in office in 2000. What can I say, I was not and still not a fan of Al Gore. I still am a huge fan of George H.W. Bush, sorry. I however do not toe the party line at all costs. George W. Bush is one of the worst presidents in history. I voted for that awful candidate the democrats nominated in 2004, John Kerry, because he couldn't do worse than President Bush was doing.

That brings me to my point in this post, nominate a real candidate. You've nominated Al Gore and John Kerry and yet wonder why you've lost the last two elections. The republican party needs to lose and reform itself, it must distance itself from the Bush/Cheney regime and the 'family values' interest groups. Losing the White House in 2008 will help my party a lot in the next 12 to 20 years, winning it will not be good.

The democrats are doing everything possible to allow the republicans to win the White House in November. The republicans are better than the democrats, it is easier for them to win. Republicans are much more likely to follow the party line than democrats. Republicans make up a majority of the upper class so they are more likely to be motivated to vote. Republicans make sure to put key issues on the ballot in swing states because they know it will drive the far right to the polls to vote and they might as vote for President. The republican party is just better at getting someone elected president.

Since 1952 three democrats have taken the White House from the republicans. Carter defeated Ford and Ford was never elected to anything above senator. Clinton won mainly because of Ross Perot. Only Kennedy won in a real election vs. a real candidate. JFK's win was very close and is tainted with the election fraud stuff from Illinois. I'm not saying any of them were bad presidents, well yes, Jimmy Carter was a bad president. Bill Clinton was incredibly popular and couldn't get Al Gore elected, the democrats are just bad. You keep nominating the wrong people.

I wrote how the republicans are good at putting issues on the ballot to drive republican voters to go out and vote and they are very good. In November they might not have to. You're seriously thinking about nominating the poster child for the republican hate of the democratic party, Hillary Clinton. Nominate Hillary Clinton and watch the republicans drive to the polls in huge numbers.

Being a republican, I know the secret handshake and everything, I have republican friends and family. Being a gamer and working in the industry I do, plus my wife's friends I have democrat friends as well. I've talked politics with a few of them, more so than I normally do. I can some up the major points pretty easily.

Most republicans I know are not happy with Bush either. Some are like me and feel bad for voting for him.
Most also didn't like Gore or Kerry.
Most of them wouldn't be too upset with a loss in November since McCain and Romney aren't exactly Abraham Lincoln.

Conversation about Obama with a conservative person I know, "yeah Obama's got some good things to say, I just wish he was more than just a one term senator."

Conversation about Clinton with that same conservative person, "I will vote for anyone other than Hillary Clinton."

Obviously my questions aren't worded like a poll and my sample size of a dozen or so people isn't exactly indicative of the entire country. Still every single person I've talked to has expressed almost exactly the same sentiment towards Obama and Clinton as I wrote above. Please on Tuesday or whenever your primary is, be smart and nominate a candidate who can win in November.

Vote Obama

Never a good day

It is never good when the best pitcher on the planet gets added to your division and not on your team. Stupid Mets. I still think the NL East is up for grabs for three teams.

Pitching
#1 - NY Mets
#2 - Braves
#3 - Phillies

Hitting
#1 - Phillies
#2 - Braves
#3 - NY Mets

There is obviously more to it than that but I think the Braves can still win. Facing Johan five or six times this year isn't going to be a lot of fun though.

And I call myself a baseball fan

Again with the silly ways sports teams work. I'm still working on various sports die cast stuff at work. We do a two pack, a home and away pack as we call it. It includes a Dodge Viper as the home and a Nissan 350Z as the away. The files are labeled but it is much easier for me to switch the folder and look for the thumbnail for what I'm doing. So I do the NFL or at least the 10 teams or so we're doing a home/away item for and then move onto MLB. Then the MLB just messed me up, the Dodge Vipers are now white based and the 350Zs are color based and quickly scanning the thumbnails and I'm messed up.

About half the time I'm working on the MLB files, with numerous fuck ups, I am just curing the art team for switching it, for making the home now the away and vice versa. Then I realize I'm wrong, the home jerseys in baseball are white and they wear the colors on the road. And I call myself a baseball fan.

Movie List

I never finished my list of movies I'd seen in 2007. I have them written down so I can write about them but I never got back to finishing it up. I've even started keeping track of the movies for 2008. Here is the list of movies that isn't on that list that I watched in 2007.

Harry Potter #3
Harry Potter #4
Harry Potter #5
We Were Soldiers

That finishes out my list for 2007, giving me 61 movies watched in 2007. I will go back and finish writing about those movies here later this week.

Weekends

They really should be longer than just two days. Maybe the French are onto something with their 36 hour work week and 6 weeks of vacation. Naw, I doubt it but I still wouldn't mind a three day weekend.

It's an Advance

Charlie Young - "It's not a rebate, it's an advance."

You're tax 'rebate' in April or May, which ranges from some random amount of money to some other random amount of money. The amount of money you get depends on how much you make, how many children you have, and I think the phase of the moon when you filed your taxes. It isn't a rebate, it is an advance on your taxes in 2009.

It didn't work in 2001/2002 and I'm fairly certain it isn't going to work this time. The economy isn't as bad as the doomsday proclamations say that it is, it however isn't peachy either. Home prices aren't supposed to go up 30% a year every year for 4 years. When things like that happen it eventually bursts and things go back to normal.

Wait a Minute...

So Clinton won the Nevada Caucus but Obama got more delegates, how exactly does that work? I understand how it works, the delegates are broken up into districts and if you win a district you win that delegate. So you could win in landslides in one and win the popular vote but lose the more districts. Similar to the electoral vote in the general election for president.

My question is how does the media report it as a win for Clinton? That isn't a win for Clinton, Obama got more delegates which is what he needs for the Presidential Nomination, not total votes. Stupid news sources.

Let Down

If the Patriots win the Super Bowl, which seems is incredibly likely, they will finish the greatest season in NFL history. They are incredible to watch, mainly on offense where they broke just about every record that they keep for offense. The Patriots will have defeated every team on their schedule every possible way. They've had dramatic comebacks, well played games, and some times they demolished their opponents.

I will be let down however. No not because the Steelers didn't win the Super Bowl, although they should win the Super Bowl every year but that is a different conversation. The disappointing thing in the Patriots season to me is their run through the playoffs. If the Patriots win the Super Bowl they will have defeated the #3 and #5 AFC seeds and the #5 NFC seed. Last year the Colts beat the #2, #4, and #6 AFC seeds and #1 NFC seed. The Steelers beat the #1, #2, and #3 AFC seeds and #1 NFC seed. Even in the Patriots previous runs throughout the playoffs they usually had to defeat the top seeded teams. Yes that includes the #1 seeded Steelers twice, bastards.

Anyway I just want the best teams to have beaten the best teams. Now the Patriots did defeat the top teams in the regular season beating 5 playoff teams and the 10-6 Browns. You could even argue that minus the two games against the Patriots the Bills would be a playoff team. The regular season is just different. The Patriots will beat the #5 and #4 AFC teams and #5 NFC teams. That doesn't quite live up to expectations to me, I was hoping for more.

Eli?

Wow that was an entertaining game. Good job Eli, maybe we'll eventually get the Manning Bowl.

Home Teams, again

I still have all home teams this weekend. Maybe I'll be wrong again and the crazy assplosion that will be the Favre vs. Brady two week lead up will be avoided.

For the record I'll be rooting for the Patriots (I can't take loud mouth quarterbacks, sorry Rivers) and the Giants (Julie is an Eli fan and I don't really care either way so we'll go with Eli).

Enough Money

As the Directors Guild just proved in addition to Dave Letterman/Tom Cruise there is enough money to go around. The WGA and the producers guild or whatever its called just need to sign a deal and get it done. I want my TV back and I really don't want too many good movies delayed. Nothing good comes from a strike in 2008. Just get together, come up with a number, and then move on. There is enough money for everyone.

Hornets, Bobcats, who cares?

It turns out the Hornets aren't in Charlotte anymore. I'm putting images into folders based completely on image and most of our items only have team name not city name. At least most of them only the team name is visible in the images I'm looking. The person on helping was giving me shit all day for the Charlotte folders having both the Bobcats and Hornets images in it. Stupid NBA.

Bad US Sports Fan

Some of the various files at work for the different sports teams are stored in complete disarray. It has been given to me to organize and clean them up. I realized when doing it that I can't name every NBA or NHL team. I don't watch either league, I just thought it was odd. Most of my sports fan friends can probably name them and I can't.

Killed

With about 6 minutes to play in the 4th and a slim Colts lead I think either one of these teams is going to get killed next week. Granted I thought the Colts would have killed the Chargers today so my opinion is usually wrong.

Saturday, January 12, 2008

26 of 28

That is just crazy good in a playoff game. I still think Peyton Manning is better but man what kind of year is Tom Brady having.

Friday, January 11, 2008

All Home Teams

I'm taking all home teams this weekend. I think the Colts and Patriots will destroy their opponents. The Packers and Cowboys could both lose but I think they'll both hold on. Man I hope we don't get a Tom Brady/Brett Favre Super Bowl, the talking heads will assplode.

Blogging Blues

Some days I just don't have much to write about. The problem is every time I think about a topic to write about I just want to bitch about the Steelers. I'm sure I'll think of some other topic eventually and back in my blog groove.

Too Short

Football season is too short. The worst part of the loss yesterday is I have to wait until September for more Steelers games. There is a good bit for them to build off of but they do need a good bit of improvement. Tis life I guess.

Saturday, January 5, 2008

Onto Next Year

Man they made it close there for a little bit. I really do hate the Jaguars now. The only nice thing about tonight is that I don't have to watch the Steelers get killed by the Patriots next week. But man they almost had it, ALMOST!

Son of a Bitch

Man they looked so good on the first drive, I mean so good. Then their great special teams showed up and it was all downhill from there.

Ben will get a lot of blame, as well he should, but two of those picks were really good plays by the Jaguars. The other INT was just a really bad throw. Mix that with two great plays by Jones-Drew and I'm going to have to change my hatred from Fred Taylor to Jones-Drew.

The Steelers can still pull this out. Their defense is doing a good job and their offense has some signs of life. They gotta cut down the mistakes, man there were five or six really bad mistakes. Hopefully they can cut those down and Ben can look like Ben. Still it doesn't look good at all.

A Wild Weekend

Wildcard weekend baby! I don't really know what to say other than I hate the Jaguars. A real injured Pittsburgh team will host what has become the bane of their existence, the Jacksonville Jaguars. The only two things the Steelers have going for them is they are playing at home and their QB is better than the Jags QB. A good QB goes a long way in the playoffs and Ben is 5-1 in the playoffs with three really good games, one okay, and two not so good games. Even with Ben I'm not sure if I hold out too much hope for beloved Steelers.

Like I've said before, if you told me the Steelers would go 10-6 and win their division before the season started I would have told you that was okay with me. Now they've done that and of course we want more. Win or lose and I'll be okay, I'd just much prefer a win.

Go Steelers!

Friday, January 4, 2008

Just crazy

The Jaguars gave back some of the tickets they couldn't sell for tomorrow's playoff game against the Steelers. I've never heard of Steelers tickets at cover price from Ticketmaster, ever, much less for the playoffs. But there they are, if you search you'll find them, well maybe not for long. Too bad I live 7.5 hours away and was just on vacation or I'd totally be on my way to Pittsburgh.

More Picture From Disney World

I found some other great pictures while I was picking out my Day 3 picks. Hope you enjoy.

Man that is a big hat. I got one just like it, just a little smaller.

The Little One found a hat in Mexico. I'm sure Pal Mickey was explaining something about Mexico.

The Little One pretending to be Boba Fett. That one is for you Troy.

Man they did a great job lighting the castle. It was impossible to get a stable picture though.

I'm told I didn't take enough of pictures with me in them and I never post them. Not true!

Here is all of us with Goofy, he liked my ears.

The Little One and I in our dream car.

Christmas at Disney Day Two

Walt Disney World Day 2 (Saturday 12/22)

Saturday’s at the Magic Kingdom can be a little packed so we’d always planned to hit the other parks on Saturday. The Little One was very disappointed that we weren’t able to ride any of the big rides at EPCOT the last time we were there. Pretty Bird and I aren’t huge EPCOT fans but we did want to get some of the rides this time.

EPCOT – We got there as early as it opened, well 15 minutes before and wanted to rush to get some Fast Passes. The Little One’s first choice was Turtle Talk and the new Finding Nemo ride, neither of which have Fast Pass and Turtle Talk didn’t open for an hour. I got Fast Passes for Soarin’ while the girls got in the Character greeting line. I was able to get back and see the Little One get her picture with Goofy. Unless the line is only three or four people I’d highly recommend you find another way to see the characters. There are many horror stories out there about spending hours to see the characters. There are so many ways that are easier, quicker, and far less stressful.

We had about 45 minutes until our Soarin’ Fast Pass so there was plenty of time to hit the Test Track. The Test Track only had a 10 minute wait at this point and most of that was part of the show. None of us had ever rode Test Track and we were really excited. Man the ride did not disappoint, it was great. It is the fastest ride at Disney World, with a light enough car you can hit close to 70mph (which is really cool with the Goofy pirate ears). We did find an Hidden Mickey as well (HM 3).

After that we hit our Soarin’ times and rode it. Like we figured it was the exact same ride that they have at Disneyland. They did change the Main Street view to include a Christmas Parade instead of a regular parade which we thought was a nice touch. Even if it is the same ride it doesn’t matter, Soarin’ is a great ride.

After Soarin’ we hit the Nemo ride, which was a pretty cool change to the Living Seas. After hanging out a little at the big tanks we were able to get into Turtle Talk with Crush. Both times we’ve tried Turtle Talk before have been at Disneyland and both times were lines over an hour. We don’t do lines that long, ever. This time was close enough to the first show that there was hardly a line. The Little One made a friend and did some pin trading as well, it was cute to see her trade with someone other than a cast member. Turtle Talk is done really well, it is neat how he interacts with the audience. The Little One got to be one of the people who asked him a question. “Yeah the little dudette in the third row, with the pink shell, she has a question”. She asked Crush how many fish are in the sea. He told her it was a great question and then replied “more than 10”. Good times.

Next up was the World Showcase, which is a lot of walking. Pal Mickey did tell us all about every country, well at least a few sentences. We ate lunch at the US pavilion because the Little One wanted a hamburger. Of course when we got there she ordered chicken nuggets but whatever. She did pick out a great Christmas hat, a Princess themed Santa Hat. EPCOT was one for the day. We were able to find one more Hidden Mickey (HM 4). The Little One also won a Year of a Million Dreams prize and it is probably (outside of a week’s vacation or a night in the castle) the best possible prize for her, a pin. She does love pin trading and this would be the only way she could get this pin so she was set. On the way out of the park Pal Mickey told us “Going around the world in one day is tiring Pal, I’m going to take a break”. We agree Mickey.

Now onto the biggest tip to enjoying Disney World, breaks. The parks are busiest between 11am and 3pm and that is usually when it is hot as well. Late night and early are the best time to ride the rides and see the sights so we plan on hitting both of those times. With the park open some 16 hours a day you can’t be there the whole time. Why not avoid the busy times and enjoy the pool? Make sure you can still see the parade or whatever once during your stay but trust me, a break is huge. So we took our break. We had 5pm reservations for Chef Mickey’s and decided to take a break until then.

Chef Mickey’s – I can’t recommend Chef Mickey’s high enough. If you’re going to Disney World this is the place to eat. Maybe not every time you go but at least once you need to eat here. We love the character meals but try to keep them restrained; we want them to be special. This is our fifth vacation to a Disney park but only our third character meal, we want them to remain special. Plus they aren’t cheap. Of the three character meals this one was easily the best. The Little One might have preferred the Princess Breakfast at Disneyland better but this one has all five of the front-line characters, Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto, and Goofy. The food is great and the service was awesome. The Little One started her autograph book, after much reluctance on our part since we don’t like the autographs but it was her money and her memories. It was a great two hours, man we had a good time. We found another Hidden Mickey (HM 5).

After Mickey’s we should have just sucked up the crowds and went to the Magic Kingdom since it is right there. Nope we decided to try and make it to MGM Studios to hopefully see Fantasmic. That was a mistake. We had the bus driver from hell and it took us almost 90 minutes to get from the Contemporary to MGM Studios. All the way there we were missing turns, hitting curbs, almost killing everyone on the road at Disney World.

MGM-We got there with only 90 minutes left of MGM being opened so we really didn’t do much. We definitely missed being able to see Fantasmic but we were able to ride the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. I’ve never rode it but Pretty Bird has a few times. The Little One was a little scared but she ended up liking it okay. I wasn’t such a fan. Pal Mickey did tell comment a few times, the best being “next time let’s take the stairs, I think I left my stomach on the fifth floor”. We did get over and see the Osborne lights which while being really tacky are impressive.

Looking back we definitely should have gone to the Magic Kingdom, we lost valuable ride time that night. Still a great second day, first full day at Walt Disney World. Most of the rest of our group arrived on Sunday so it was time to have a true Grand Gathering.

Christmas at Disney Day One

I’ve had a few people ask me about our Disney vacation so I figured I’d write about it. Plus it is fun to remember a great trip. I’ll break it up day by day, kinda like an old-school TCG tournament report.

Disney World Day One (Friday 12/21)

The first day was laid back. We planned on arriving a little after lunch, spend some time at Animal Kingdom (since it was near All-Star Movies, our hotel), go to eat at Ohana, and then hit the Very Merry Christmas Party at the Magic Kingdom. Everything worked out perfectly and we had a great time. We ate lunch at the All-Star cafeteria and it was pretty good for cheap food.

All-Star Movies – Since we were staying there six nights the cost outweighed the benefits of the next step up. Next we’ll definitely stay at the next level resort, we liked the Port Orleans a lot more. Before leaving for Animal Kingdom we picked up Pal Mickey for Emily. Pal Mickey is expensive but man was he a trip to listen to.

Animal Kingdom – All we really did was walk around and look at things. We were only going to be there a few hours before we had to change for dinner. The Little One rode some rides in DinoLand USA. We did find a few Hidden Mickey’s (2 HM) and got to see the beautiful scenery that is Animal Kingdom. Pal Mickey gave us some interesting tips about the different wildlife exhibits and sang a few songs.

Dinner – We got the meal plan so meals were covered, one table service and one quick service per day. If you’re going to eat at the resort we’d really recommend it, if not then it is expensive. Because food was already paid for we made sure to pick the nicer places to eat, ones we’d never be able to afford. We didn’t just go for expensive, although they usually were expensive, we wanted places that would be great to eat and memorable. The first one was Ohana at the Polynesian Resort. This place was incredible, our only regret was that we scheduled it first. A long day of travel and a full night planned we weren’t able to full enjoy the place. It is a five course meal featuring Polynesian, Hawaiian, and random other pacific island type foods. It had quite possibly the best turkey I’ve ever had. There are places I’d recommend eating at over this one but not because of lack of quality. Man was it good food. If you go give it at least 90 minutes of your time.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party (at the Magic Kingdom) – This was the last night they were running the party and Pretty Bird and I wanted to go to it. Obviously the Little One wanted to go. Disney does a great job with the party and the events were well scheduled and pretty good. We will probably not do the Party again however. It is not worth the money, it costs almost as much as single day admission. Almost none of the events are exclusive; you can catch them later on. They do schedule the events more frequently and they actually break their ‘only one character per park at a time’ rule. It just wasn’t worth another admission.
