Deja Vu

Man every single one of these road losses for the Braves go the same way. They lose by one run and their offense just looks inept. Its eventually got to stop right.

One Hour To Go

Man I don't like the longer days Monday through Thursday but when its 10:30 on a Friday and I have only an hour to go it is a great thing.

Since May 5th

Obama has 84 Superdelegate endorsements and Clinton has 14. I guess those 14 people like to root for the Royals or Pirates. If I was a SD at this point I'd either endorse the winner or wait until the convention. Picking the obvious loser and writing a press release about it just makes you seem dumb.

Win on the Road

The Braves really can win on the road. I'm sure Campillo will not find his way back to the bullpen for a little while either, man has he been good as a starter. Off to Cincy vs. Dusty "I don't understand baseball" Baker and his Reds. If the Braves weren't so awful on the road I'd this was a good situation.

At least it was well pitched

Even though is sucks nuts the Braves can't win on the road I do love me a 1-0 nothing game. That is just good baseball right there.

2-3

A hitter with a 2-3 count doesn't get to see another pitch. Silly announcers.

Memorial Day

For those that laid down their lives because their country asked, thank you.

Military Aviation

I've always been impressed by military aviation and there was plenty of it on display at the Coke 600. Six Apache helicopters flew around the track for about 10 minutes. It was quite an impressive display.

Two Blackhawk helicopters unloaded two groups of soldiers who put on a mock assault on a few fake houses. I would have got pictures of the mock assault but from the pits we couldn't see anything. We did here the assault weapons though follow by three shots from some howitzers.

Of course the finale after the National Anthem was the F-15 flyover. Apparently F-15s are fast so it was difficult to go from holding your hat for the anthem to getting your camera to take a picture. Man they were loud.

More Coke 600 Pics

An upclose view of Pretty Bird's favorite driver Jeff "Looks Like Speed Racer" Gordon's car.

Here is lap 273 near in between turn 1 and turn 2 with my mom's favorite driver Tony Stewart (Home Depot).

View From Pit Road

My Dad and I were able to get pit pass for the Coca-Cola 600 yesterday. We had Cold Passes meaning we were supposed to leave the pits one hour before race time. If we had Hot Passes then we could be in the pits the entire race. We talked to the Jimmie Johnson crew and they didn't mind us staying there out of the way. As long as NASCAR security didn't find us we were good.

This is the start of the first lap after the three warm up laps, the same view that the crew chief gets.

This is the start of lap two. You see that the cars were going just a bit faster this time and my camera didn't quite get everything in focus. The one thing about being in the pits when all 40 or so cars start their engines its just a little on the load side.

Drive Fast, Turn Left

My dad and I are going to the Coca-Cola 600 today. I'm not a huge NASCAR fan but he is and I do work for a company that's revenue is over 60% NASCAR related so I guess its time for me to go to a race. I will make sure to post some pictures. We get pit passes and everything so I should be able to get some good pictures. It should be lots of fun.

Indy was good.

Pretty Bird, I and even The Little One enjoyed Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. I wasn't a big fan of the premise but I really enjoyed the movie. Harrison Ford was great. A good time was had by all of us which is I really wanted.

Walk Off!

By all accounts the Diamondbacks should have won the game. Good thing Jeff Francouer had something to say about it. What a good game.

Indiana Jones and I Hope Its Good

We're off to see Indiana Jones tonight. I've done a pretty good job of keeping my expectations in check. I don't hold out a huge amount of hope that it will be good. Well let me rephrase that, I don't think it will be great. Last Crusade and Raiders of the Lost Ark are two of my favorite movies. I hope this one is just a pretty good summer flick. Aliens though, really?

Wilhelm Screams

Because Indiana Jones opens up tomorrow and both Lucas and Spielberg love the Wilhelm Scream.

Ping Girard and Greg

Three in a Row vs. the Mets

Let's make it four in a row today. Man the Braves have looked really good and the Mets have looked really bad this series. Of course today they have Johan going, I'm not that excited about the Braves chances.

Getting Married

One month from today Pretty Bird and I are getting married! Well we're getting married again. What better time to renew your vows then after ten years of marriage and what better place to get married then Las Vegas. Anyone who can make it to Vegas is welcome to swing by to enjoy the party. The actual renewal ceremony won't be much but we'll have fun partying all day. We're also going to run around sites in Vegas to take pictures next to with Pretty Bird all done up in her wedding dress. It should be a great time.

Glavine FTW

I bet that made the Mets fans real happy.

Very Tired

Tomorrow starts our yearly endeavor into "summer hours". So I get to go into work way too early but I guess its made up for by having a half day on Friday. We'll see if this year goes better than the previous three years.

One Month till Vegas!

One month from today till my week long trip to Vegas. Hell yeah baby!

Winning Ways

The Braves are home so they will win some. It appears to be the way they are going to play this year, good at home and crappy on the road.

I'll be in my bunk

I was going to stay away from the hottie posting for a while. It seems my wife was getting upset. Well she wasn't getting upset she was just giving me a hard time. But my buddy sent me this link.

The key line is

She said: "It's fine with me. If I'm going to be linked with someone, I could have an affair with Angelina Jolie. Although Jessica Alba and Charlize Theron would be OK too.

As long as I can have a video of that all would be good in the world. Either way I'll be in my bunk.

Tuesday, May 13, 2008

No way

I'm not going to watch tonight's Braves game. Maybe they will do better, maybe they won't. Either way I'm just going to spend some time racing in Forza 2. I gotta buy myself a Z06.

Three of Four!

Losing three of four to the Pirates sucks balls. Stupid bipolar Braves.

That Good

Yes I'm that good or that bad, depending on how you look at it. Star Wars is on Spike TV and Pretty Bird is flipping channels and stopped. She didn't think I could figure out what part it was during the movie but I knew exactly what part it was. This with only blaster fire going on in the background. Its either a great gift or a disturbing one, who knows. I do like me some Star Wars and man does it look good in HD.

Lefty on the Road

You could tell the Braves were on the road and playing vs. a lefty pitcher today. They were awful against both of them all season long and tonight was no different. I decided to watch something else after the third double play I saw the Braves hit into today. Man what a horrible game to watch.

Another game on the road

Hopefully not another loss. I do plan on watching some of the game. Of course seeing the city of Pittsburgh in the background is going to make me miss football even more. Come on Braves, pick up a win on the road.

With or without a cape

I have no idea if super delegates have a cape or not. I do know that now Obama has more super delegates than Clinton. I wouldn't be surprised if Obama pulls most of his money from the remaining primaries and starts to work on the national campaign versus McCain. There isn't a way for Clinton to catch Obama now so the rest are just formalities. Way to go North Carolina in helping put a nail in Clinton's coffin.

Just Awful

The Braves are just awful on the road, just awful. Eventually it should change, at least a little, but right now they're just bad away from Turner Field. Maybe they'll get'um tomorrow.

In My Best Count Voice

Six...yes six Braves games without a loss. Good times.

Wednesday, May 7, 2008

Five in a Row

I guess I'll have to amend the post below this one and point out the Braves are on a five game winning streak. Man they've looked really good over the past five games. I still wonder why teams are still pitching to Chipper but I'm not complaining.

Tuesday, May 6, 2008

Four In A Row

Here's the Braves last 25 games

Lose 3
Win 2
Lose 3
Win 5
Lose 2
Win 2
Lose 4
Win 4

That is a roller coaster of a first quarter of the season. Man I hope they figure some of it out eventually.

Equal Opportunity

I'm an equal opportunity hottie poster. I'm not a huge fan, at least hottie-wise, of Cobie Smulders. Based on internet buzz for How I Met Your Mother I'm apparently in the minority. The internet community thinks she's a hottie. Still yet another reason to watch HIMYM. Well that and it is really funny.

Monday, May 5, 2008

Alyson Hannigan

Neil Patrick Harris as Barney is not the only reason to watch How I Met Your Mother. Any excuse for a nice picture of Willow is fine by me.

800

The tragic accident and immediate euthanization (not sure if that is a real word or not) of the second place finisher of yesterday's Kentucky Derby has brought the usual round the clock information from the sports news sphere. One of the facts that caught my attention was the amount of horses that are killed each year in American horse racing. Over 800 horse are euthanized, it sounds so much better than killed, as a result of injuries from horse racing. That number just seems astounding. Over two horses are killed each day on average in the US due to horse racing.

I'm not what one would call an animal rights lover. I like to eat meat and if animal testing will cure cancer then I'm all for it. I'm not even trying to call for an end of horse racing. I just think that if people knew that two horses were killed each day there'd be a little bit of outrage. I guess it comes from the fact that horse racing is a hugely bet on sport and makes a ton of people a ton of money.

It seems more than a little sadistic.

BSG Update

Since it seems that my theme over the past week or so has been images I figured I'd put up a Tricia Helfer image. I haven't really blogged about BSG since it came back but I've really enjoyed it. I think I've enjoyed every episode this year which is weird. Even the best shows can have down episodes which BSG has a lot.

Just a piece of advice, if you have safe search off on and just search for "Tricia Helfer image" you'll get mostly her Playboy pics. Not that I mind, she's incredibly attractive. I do update my blog from work so I figure I should keep it only PG-13.

Iron Man

I'm not a huge a fan of Iron Man in the comics at all. Well he's an okay supporting character but I just don't like reading a story entirely about him. At least not on a month to month basis.

Iron Man the movie is a different story. I'm not sure that it would crack my comic movie top five but it's still really damn good. Robert Downey is really good as are the special effects. It was well worth the price of admission. Much better than last year's entry into the summer movie season.

Tim Hudson

FTW!

Great game Timmy.

AOL

After going through our customer database I've figured out that NASCAR fans are the people keeping AOL in business. Everyone hears that AOL still has 12 million subscribers but nobody knows who these people are. It turns out they are all NASCAR fans. I guess people like paying for service that isn't good or they don't need.

Hell I still wonder why people use an email from their ISP. Do you really want to change your email all the time? Just get your own domain or an email from Gmail and take it with you. Silly people.
