Bye Bye Emmitt
Man you were a great running back but an awful talking head. Too bad I think this means they'll hire Brett Favre to replace him. I can just hear Berman now "isn't great how much fun Brett Favre is having at the end of the table."

Great Week of TV
Man the week your team is in the Super Bowl is great programming on the NFL Network. It sure is must see TV.

NFL Network
The week after the Championship Games is a great time to have the NFL Network. All of the all-time Super Bowl stuff gets rolled out. Of course being a Steelers fan is good because there are five Super Bowl wins and six Super Bowls total. Still it is fun to watch some of the old time footage.

24 Hours To Go
In 24 hours we'll know who's playing in America's latest holiday, the Super Bowl. It should be a good if not late Sunday watching some football. Go Steelers!
I'm not going to pick the Steelers game of course but I do think the Eagles are going from the NFC. I think I'd be great if the Cardinals went but I just think the Eagles are better.

Lines in Vegas
All the sports books in Vegas are going crazy right now. All three games so far the home team and the favorite has lost. Most Vegas bettors are numbers betters, meaning they play trends. There are people lining up to say the home team pulls it out and probably an equal amount lining up to say the visitors are going to run the table. Just remember, the house always wins.
Second Sign of the Apocalypse
Is that the Arizona Cardinals are hosting the NFC Championship Game. This has been a really crazy weekend in the playoffs.

Cardinals
The Arizona Cardinals are in the NFC Championship Game. That's pretty messed up right there.
Stupid Ravens
I have no idea how the Titans lost that game. I know it was turnovers but man were some of those turnovers just freaky. Man do I hate the Ravens.
Divisional Weekend Picks
I won't pick the Steelers game but here are my other picks.
Baltimore in a close one over Tennessee.
Panthers crush Arizona.
Giants in a somewhat close one over Philadelphia.
I'll write more about the Steelers later in the weekend. I'm still really worried about this game.

Stop
I guess I will stop with my Peyton Manning/Colts love since now it seems the Colts will have to watch the next round of the playoffs from home. An 8-8 team beating a 12-4 team doesn't happen very often but I guess the Chargers are pretty good.
Wildcard Weekend Picks
Here are my wildcard weekend picks.
Arizona over Atlanta
Indianapolis over San Diego
Baltimore over Miami
Minnesota over Philadelphia
I could be wrong on a specific pick or two but I do believe that two home teams will win.

The Best
Congratulations Peyton Manning on your record tying third MVP. I believe the Peyton Manning is not only the best QB in the league now but the best QB ever. He's the dominate offensive force for the past 10 years in the offensive dominated era of the NFL.The Steelers are obviously the first choice when it comes to games I watch on TV but the Colts are the second. Not because I like the Colts but because I really like to watch great players and Peyton is great.
Chris Johnson?
What the fuck? One of the 50 or so voters for the MVP award voted for Chris Johnson. Chris Johnson is not even remotely an MVP candidate this year. Stupid sportswriters.

From SI.com
"Manning led the Patriots to a 12-4 record and the AFC Championship. He led the league with 4,267 passing yards and threw 29 touchdowns."
Somehow I think they missed something in the description of the 2003 Co-MVP.
I wonder if they'll fix it, here is the article.
Edit: It turns out I know how to use (some) photoshop so I will put the picture here.

What a Difference a Week Makes
Maybe Tennessee Titans and the New York Giants are the best two teams in the league.

I have lots of confidence
We have a weekly confidence points pick 'um in our office. We have a weekly payout and an overall payout. I've won five weeks and have the overall lead. Not too bad, it is nice to get a free lunch plus some every other week or so.
People just don't get the #1 rule in a confidence league, you must have a team in your top 3 or 4 picks that others don't. That and always pick against Detroit and Brett Favre in California.

Vote Early, Vote Often (Maybe Not Often)
The fans vote for the Pro Bowl doesn't count that much. Plus I don't think anyone watches the Pro Bowl. Usually however the best players at their positions make the Pro Bowl so it is nice for your fans. So go vote. Unlike the MLB All-Star game I don't think I'm going to vote more then once.
I know I'm voting for Hines Ward and then quite a few Steelers on defense. Not so many on offense though.

Sunday, 1pm
These are my favorite types of games. I get to sit around on a Sunday and actually watch the Steelers. I have to be at work at 7:30 so staying up after midnight is tough. I used to love when the Steelers had a primetime game because it meant I knew they were going to be on TV. Now with Sunday Ticket I get every game, I want to watch the Steelers at 1pm on a Sunday.
